Kiawah Island exists in its own Low Country paradise - a barrier island resort where the Atlantic Ocean meets pristine marshland and golf history lives on every fairway. Thirty miles south of Charleston, this is where Pete Dye created his seaside masterpiece and where major championships are won.
Here's what makes this place legendary: Kiawah is home to The Ocean Course, site of the 1991 "War by the Shore" Ryder Cup and two PGA Championships, consistently ranked among the top public courses in America. Add in Gary Player's renovated Cougar Point along the Kiawah River and your choice of either Jack Nicklaus's Turtle Point or Tom Fazio's Osprey Point, and you've got four days of championship golf that few resorts in the world can match. We're staying at The Sanctuary, scheduling a bus shuttle into historic Charleston for the ladies to explore King Street, and playing some of the most iconic holes in American golf. This is Low Country golf at its absolute finest.

We suggest flying into Charleston International Airport (CHS). The drive from the airport to the resort is about one hour. Rideshare can be limited, so we recommend renting a car to get to and from the airport. Once you’re there, complimentary in-resort transportation is available.

Yes. Self-parking is complimentary, and valet is available for $26 per car per night.

Check-in at The Sanctuary is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 12:00 PM.

Yes. The bell staff will load your bags onto the shuttle for you and can help with anything else you need.

Dinner is on your own. You can browse resort dining options and book by calling Kiawah Island directly at 843-768-2121. Red Stag will provide each guest with a unique confirmation number to use when making reservations.

If you’re playing Turtle Point on arrival day, head straight from the airport to Turtle Point and plan to arrive by 12:50 PM for the 1:50 PM first tee time. You can store your luggage in the ladies’ locker room while you play. If you’re not playing, head to The Sanctuary, where the front desk will hold your bags until your room is ready.

The front desk at The Sanctuary will store your clubs and have them ready for you each morning.

The in-resort shuttle runs on demand starting at 7:00 AM and usually arrives at The Sanctuary within 5 minutes. Just ask the front desk or bell staff. Ride times are under 10 minutes to Turtle Point, Oak Point and Osprey Point, and 20–25 minutes to the Ocean Course.

The Ocean Course is walking only, and caddies are required. Please plan on $125 for the caddie fee and gratuity, and wear comfortable golf shoes.

On Friday, 10/30, meet in The Sanctuary lobby at 5:30 PM for the ride to Charleston’s downtown Historic District. Return pickup is at 9:30 PM, and your driver will share the exact pickup spot that evening.
